Advantages: The biggest advantages are the experiences you will have. You can intimately get to know and have a relationship with many women at once and take away something positive from each of them. This is particularly useful for men who prefer not to be committed or find that it fits their lifestyle better. Men who travel or are away for long periods of time may find these most beneficial.

Disadvantages: Many men often get "too much of a good thing" and ruin it for themselves. Keep in mind that you risk ruining a satisfying relationship or becoming very attached to a person that is not looking to be committed to you. Also, many people find problems with people in open relationships because of morals and ethics and society's belief in monagamous relationships.

Making It Happen: The most important rules of being in an open relationship are honesty and communication. While any relationship should be based off of honesty and communication, it is particularly important in these relationships. Many men are afraid of discussing the subject with their partner, but I have found that most partners will be more open to it if you are truthful. Let them know from the beginning. Also, as a final warning, you can not be jealous and insecure or else even a strong relationship will quickly struggle.
