Being Fun

While it may seem obvious, being fun is crucial to socializing. Nobody wants to spend time with a person who does not enjoy themselves or do anything enjoyable. By thinking about what characteristics make a person fun, we can better develop them. Here are my beliefs are as to what makes a person fun to be around and hang out with.

Active - You can't be the type of person that sits around all day doing nothing. Fun people are constantly partaking in interesting events such as concerts, sports games, parties, and so on. Not only do you need to live an active life to meet people, but you need to be active so that you can have things to do with your friends.

Common Interests - Everybody has hobbies that they are passionate about and these hobbies make it easier to socialize with someone. If you both enjoy watching horror movies, then you automatically share a common interest to partake in. If you and your friends enjoy a certain band, you guys can learn how to play some of their songs or attend their concerts. Essentially, common interests make it easy to connect with people and be sociable.

Adventurous - Taking a risk every now and then is always good. I'm not necessarily talking about anything dangerous, but something like going on a week-long road trip is always a great activity. Whether it is traveling, staying out all night, or riding motocross, being adventurous leads to some fun times.

Event Planner - To go above and beyond, be the person in your social circle who plans all the events. Plan a trip to the beach or to an amusement part. Get everyone together for a concert or a volunteer event. Regardless of what it is, everyone enjoys being friends with someone who can plan a good time.

Again, being fun may seem obvious, but if you make sure to maximize these traits I can guarantee you a more sociable lifestyle.
